When the iPhone or iPod touch is connected to Windows XP, a dialog is presented with choices for connecting as a digital camera and working with the digital pictures stored on the device.
This is the default behavior under Windows XP for digital imaging devices. Windows provides a way to disable this notification on a per-device basis.

Enabling VoiceOver for iPod allows you to hear the names of songs, artists, and playlists spoken when listening to content on your iPod. Applications on iPhone or iPod touch may close unexpectedly because the device has begun to run low on application memory. This does not mean there is too much data stored on the device, but simply means that it is running too many memory-intensive tasks.
Some examples of this issue:
If you have many Safari web pages open on your iPhone or iPod touch, Safari may close and the iPhone or iPod touch will go back to the Home screen (where it shows all the application icons).
When listening to music or podcasts, watch video, etc.
Your iPhone or iPod touch may experience one of the following symptoms:
Multi-Touch display (or touchscreen) does not respond
Portions of the Multi-Touch display do not respond
Multi-Touch display is very slow to respond

An error message may appear when connecting an iPod nano (5th generation) to iTunes for Windows:
"An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try again."

When attempting to connect iPhone or iPod touch, you may see one or more of the following error messages:
iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000065)
iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE800000a)
iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE800006b)
iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000001)
Alternatively, the error may be the same as above but end with a different number.
The following steps may resolve the issue.
iPod nano, iPod nano (Second Generation), iPod nano (4th generation), iPod nano (5th generation), and Fifth Generation iPod (also known as iPod with video) include Screen Lock, which allows you to set a 4-digit combination to prevent someone else from using your iPod while it is not attached to a computer. When an iPod is locked, you must enter the combination to unlock the screen. This feature is different from the Hold switch in that the Hold switch only prevents iPod from turning on accidentally—not keeping snoops out.
